ABOUT ME

“I am a night owl, sleep all day and work all night, wandering in the darkness” - An Tran

I was born in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City and pursued art studies in both Vietnam and United Kingdom. I spent previous years to travel around the globe for my own international practice, art residence and exhibitions. I mainly work with mixed media materials and enjoy the process of making art and the psychology lay underneath Art, Dance, Movement and Social interaction. Psychology and art are my majors and they enrich my knowledge and the work I continue to develop as a dance/movement therapist and a performance artist.

Married and relocated to New Zealand in 2014, I am, however, just on the first step in settling a new life, raising a child and having a family. Thus I desire to continue my practice in art and dance movement from the works I involve with Dance Therapy New Zealand. I value highly all the time and efforts to be a parent and love the joy of working with people in need of art/body movement, especially with children.
